Workouts

Workouts are the building blocks of your training. Each workout contains exercises, widgets, and details that define what you’ll do in a session. You can create workouts from scratch, use templates, or receive them from coaches and training plans.

Creating a Workout

Go to Workouts

Navigate to Workouts from the sidebar.

Create new workout

Click New Workout and give it a clear name.

Add details

Set the category, estimated duration, and add a description if needed.

Add exercises and widgets

Build out the workout with exercises, sets, and any tracking widgets you need.

Save

Save the workout to use it on your planner.

Linked Workouts

When a workout is added from a coach, training plan, or workout pack, it becomes a linked workout. Linked workouts maintain a connection to the original source.

What Stays in Sync

Linked workouts sync the following from the original:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Category
  • Details

When the coach or plan author updates these fields, your linked workout reflects those changes automatically.

What Doesn’t Sync

The following are copied when the workout is added and do not change automatically:

  • Exercises and sets — Linked plan workouts prompt you to review later source changes before applying them.
  • Widgets — Changes to the source widgets do not update your copy.

On the web, you can adjust exercises, sets, and widgets in each scheduled session without affecting the original or other linked copies.

On mobile, linked workouts hide Add Exercise and Remove exercise. You can still choose alternates, but you need to unlink the workout before adding or removing exercises.

Unlinking a Workout

If you want full control over a linked workout, you can unlink it:

Open the workout

Navigate to the scheduled workout you want to unlink.

Access actions menu

Click the actions menu (three dots) in the workout header.

Choose Unlink workout from the menu.

Confirm

Confirm that you want to unlink. The workout will stop syncing its name, description, category, and details from the original. You’ll be able to edit and duplicate it freely, including its exercises.

Scheduling Workouts

Once created, schedule workouts on your planner:

  1. Go to the Planner
  2. Click on a day
  3. Search for and select your workout
  4. The workout appears on that day

You can drag workouts to different days if your schedule changes.

Editing from the Mobile Schedule

Open a scheduled workout, tap the overflow menu (⋮), and select Edit Workout. The workout template opens, and you return to the scheduled workout when you finish.

Workout Categories

Organise workouts by category (Strength, Endurance, Climbing, etc.) to:

  • Filter your workout library
  • See category distribution in your training load
  • Maintain balanced programming

See Categories for more on managing workout categories.

Tips

Name workouts clearly Use descriptive names like “Upper Body Strength” or “Fingerboard Protocol” so you can find them easily.

Use templates If you repeat similar sessions, create template workouts to save time.

Personalise linked workouts Exercise updates are optional, and widgets don’t sync. On mobile, choose alternates for a linked workout or unlink it when you need a different exercise list.
