Test Templates

Coaching test templates let you create standardised assessments that you can import to any client. Build your test library once, then share templates with clients as needed.

Coaching test templates are a coaching feature, available on web only.

Why Use Coaching Test Templates

Instead of having each client create their own test templates:

  • Maintain consistent assessment protocols across all clients
  • Save time with pre-built templates ready to import
  • Ensure clients track the right metrics with correct field configurations
  • Update your master templates without affecting existing client copies

Creating a Coaching Test Template

Go to Test Templates

Navigate to Coaching → Test Templates from the sidebar.

Create new template

Click New Test Template.

Configure the template

Add a name, optional description, and define your fields:

Field PropertyDescription
LabelField name shown to clients
TypeNumber, Text, or Select
UnitOptional measurement unit
DescriptionOptional help text

Save

Click Create to save your coaching template.

Importing Templates to Clients

Enter Coach Mode

Switch to Coach Mode and select the client.

Open the template

Go to Coaching → Test Templates and select the template you want to import.

Import to client

Click the menu and select Add to this client.

Client receives template

The template now appears in your client’s Tests section, ready for them to record results.

Importing creates a copy of the template for the client. Changes to your coaching template won’t affect copies already imported to clients.

Managing Coaching Templates

View Template Details

Click any template to view its field configuration and structure.

Edit a Template

Open a template and click Edit to modify fields, labels, or descriptions.

Delete a Template

Delete templates you no longer need. This doesn’t affect copies previously imported to clients.

Best Practices

Standardise Your Assessments

  • Create templates for common test protocols (max hangs, pull-ups, campus tests)
  • Use consistent field names across related templates
  • Include clear descriptions so clients understand each field

Plan for Different Client Needs

  • Create template variations for different experience levels
  • Consider metric vs imperial unit preferences
  • Include optional fields clients can skip if not applicable

Regular Assessment Schedule

  • Import test templates when onboarding new clients
  • Pair with Templates to schedule assessments in training blocks
