Messages
Coaches can message clients directly within Sequence. Messages are delivered in real time, keeping communication alongside training in one place.
Sending a Message (Coach)
Navigate to Messages
Go to Coaching → Messages in the sidebar to open your conversations.
Select or start a conversation
Pick one of you active clients to start a conversation with.
Compose your message
Type your message in the text field.
Send
Click Send or press Enter to deliver the message. The client receives it immediately.
Conversations
The conversation list shows all of your client threads. Each entry displays the client’s name, a preview of the last message, and an unread badge when new messages are waiting. Use the search field to filter conversations by client name.
Replying & Threads
Click reply on a message
Select the reply action on any message to start a threaded response.
Compose your reply
Type your response in the reply field. The original message is quoted for context.
View the thread
Replies appear inline beneath the original message so the full conversation stays easy to follow.
Replies appear inline with quoted context, making it simple to follow multi-message conversations.
Activity Comments
Coaches can leave feedback directly on a client’s scheduled workout notes withing the message thread. This is useful for providing feedback on a workout, or to ask a question about a workout.
Read Receipts
Messages are marked as read when the recipient opens the conversation. You can see which messages have been viewed in the conversation thread.
Notifications
Both coaches and clients receive notifications for new messages. When you receive a new message, you will see a notification in the navigation next to the “Messages” icon.
Deleting Messages
The sender can delete their own direct messages from a conversation. Activity comments cannot be deleted.
Client View
How clients experience messaging depends on their coaching setup:
- Single coach — The conversation opens directly when the client taps Messages.
- Multiple coaches — A conversation list is shown so the client can choose which coach to message.
- No active coach — The Messages section is hidden from the client’s sidebar.
