Customise Sequence to fit your preferences.

Open Settings from the sidebar.

Profile

Update your basic account information:

SettingDescription
NameYour display name, shown on workouts and messages
EmailYour login email address
Profile PhotoOptional avatar image
Time ZoneSets the timezone for your planner and notifications

Your time zone affects when daily emails are sent and when workout reminders are scheduled.

If you signed in with Apple and chose not to share your name, you’ll see “Signed in with Apple” as a placeholder. Enter your preferred name to replace it.

Apple Private Relay Email

If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, your email address shows as a private relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com. This is a unique, random address created by Apple.

Apple forwards all emails sent to your private relay address to your real inbox. You’ll receive Sequence notifications normally — Apple handles the forwarding automatically.

Email Verification

Verifying your email address helps secure your account. A verified email lets you:

  • Recover your account if you forget your password
  • Sign in with Google or Apple using the same email address
  • Ensure you receive important account notifications

Checking your verification status

Go to Settings → General. Your email row shows either:

  • Verified — Your email address is confirmed
  • Not verified — Click Resend verification email to receive a new link

Check your inbox

After signing up, you’ll receive a verification email. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.

Open the link from your email. The link is valid for 24 hours.

Confirm verification

If you’re signed in, click Verify email to complete the process.

If you’re not signed in (for example, opening the link on a different device), you’ll be asked to choose a new password. This confirms you own the email address and signs you into your account.

A verification reminder banner appears at the bottom of the app until you verify your email. You can dismiss it, but we recommend verifying to protect your account.

Already verified through another method

Your email is automatically verified if you:

  • Created your account with Google or Apple sign-in
  • Completed a password reset using the emailed link
  • Set your password through a coaching invite link

Sign-in Methods

Manage how you sign in to Sequence. You can use email and password, or connect an external provider such as Google or Apple.

Connected Providers

Go to Settings → Sign-in Methods to view your linked providers. Each provider shows:

  • Provider name
  • Email address associated with that provider
  • Date connected

If you signed in with Apple using Hide My Email, the linked account shows as “Signed in with Apple” rather than the private relay address.

Connecting a Provider

Go to Sign-in Methods

Navigate to Settings → Sign-in Methods.

Click Connect

Click the connect button next to the provider you want to add.

Authorise with the provider

Sign in with your provider account in the popup window.

Confirmation

The provider appears in your connected accounts list.

Connecting a provider gives you another way to sign in. Your existing email and password continue to work. Your email address must be verified before you can connect a provider.

Disconnecting a Provider

Click Disconnect next to any connected provider to remove it.

⚠️

You must always have at least one way to sign in. Set a password before disconnecting your only connected provider.

Setting a Password

If you signed up with Google or Apple, you can set a password to enable email sign-in:

Go to Sign-in Methods

Navigate to Settings → Sign-in Methods.

Set password

Click Set Password and enter your new password.

Confirm

Enter the password again to confirm.

Once you set a password, you can sign in with either your email and password or any connected provider.

Changing Your Password

Go to Sign-in Methods

Navigate to Settings → Sign-in Methods.

Enter current password

Type your current password.

Enter new password

Type your new password and confirm it.

Save

Click Change Password to save.

The two timer continuation settings are linked. Enabling Continue set timer through exercise automatically enables Continue set timer into rest. Turning off Continue set timer into rest automatically turns off Continue set timer through exercise.

Grade scales for climbing are configured per logbook, not here. See Logbook for grade scale options.

Push Notifications

⚠️

Push notifications and workout reminders are available in the Sequence mobile app only. There are no reminder settings on the web.

Configure them in the mobile app under Settings → Notifications:

SettingDescriptionDefault
System PermissionThe OS-level permission, managed by iOS or Android
Push NotificationsMaster toggle for all push notificationsOn
MessagesCoaching conversation updatesOn
Workout RemindersOn days you have a workout scheduledOn
Morning ReminderGet an overview of your planned workouts for the dayOn, 8:00 AM
Evening ReminderIdeal for those rehab exercises you “keep forgetting” to doOn, 6:00 PM

These settings nest, and a switch higher up disables everything beneath it:

System Permission

Granted at the OS level. If this is denied, nothing else is delivered regardless of your Sequence settings.

Push Notifications

The master toggle. Turning it off disables Messages and Workout Reminders.

Workout Reminders

Turning this off disables both the Morning and Evening reminders.

The Messages row only appears once you have at least one coaching conversation.

Workout Reminder Times

Tap either reminder’s time to change it:

  • Morning Reminder — default 8:00 AM
  • Evening Reminder — default 6:00 PM

Times are wall-clock times in your timezone. Reminders are sent only on days with a workout scheduled, and only for workouts that are still pending.

Data Management

Options for managing your training data:

  • Export Data — Download your complete training history
  • Import Data — Import workouts from other platforms (see Import)
  • Clear Planner — Remove scheduled workouts (see Clearing Planner)

Connected Apps

Manage integrations with external services. See Integrations for setup instructions.

Account

Manage your account and subscription:

  • Subscription — View and manage your plan (see Subscription)
  • Delete Account — Permanently remove your account and all data
⚠️

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy.

Tips

Verify early Verify your email as soon as you sign up. It’s required to connect Google or Apple sign-in, and it’s how you recover your account.

Keep a second sign-in method Set a password even if you normally sign in with a provider. It gives you a fallback if provider access ever breaks.

Notification timing Set your morning reminder to land before your first training window rather than at wake-up.
