Integrations
Sequence integrates with external services to extend your training data. Currently, Strava is supported for automatic workout syncing.
Strava Integration
Connect your Strava account to automatically sync completed workouts. Each completion creates a new activity in Strava with your workout name, duration, and details.
Connecting Strava
Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Connect Strava
Click Connect Strava and authorise Sequence to create activities on your behalf.
Confirm connection
Once connected, you’ll see your Strava account status in the integrations panel.
Sequence only creates activities in Strava — it does not read or modify your existing Strava data.
Controlling What Syncs
You have fine-grained control over which workouts sync to Strava. Control happens at two levels:
Activity-level default — Each workout has a default sync setting. When you complete the workout, it follows this default unless you override it.
Per-completion override — When completing a workout, you can toggle sync on or off for that specific completion, independent of the activity’s default.
Setting Activity Defaults
Configure the default sync behaviour for any workout:
Changing the activity default affects future completions. Past completions that have already synced are not affected.
Per-Completion Sync Toggle
When completing a workout with Strava connected, you’ll see a sync toggle below the Complete Workout button:
| Toggle State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Will sync to Strava | This completion will sync to Strava |
| Won’t sync to Strava | This completion will not sync to Strava |
Next to the toggle (when sync is enabled), you’ll see a label indicating the relationship to the activity’s default:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Always | The activity’s default is to sync, and this completion follows that default |
| Just this once | The activity’s default is off, but sync is enabled for this completion only |
Changing the default while completing — Click the Always or Just this once label to flip the activity’s default. This saves immediately and affects future completions of this workout.
How Sync Resolution Works
When you complete a workout, Sequence determines whether to sync using this logic:
- If you explicitly toggled sync on or off for this completion, that choice is used
- Otherwise, the activity’s default sync setting is used
- If no default is set, workouts sync by default
Example Scenarios
Indoor warmup session — Set the activity default to off. Quick gym sessions won’t clutter your Strava feed, but you can still enable sync for a specific completion if you want.
Outdoor climbing days — Set the activity default to on. Every climbing day syncs automatically, but you can disable it for a session if needed.
Testing a new workout — Leave the default on, but toggle off sync for the first completion while you’re still refining the workout structure.
Disconnecting Strava
Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect next to your Strava account.
Disconnecting removes Sequence’s ability to create new activities. Existing activities in Strava are not affected.
Tips
Be selective — Not every workout needs to go to Strava. Use activity defaults to automatically filter out warmups, mobility sessions, or indoor training you don’t want to track publicly.
Use “Just this once” for exceptions — If you normally don’t sync a workout but had a notable session, toggle sync on for that completion without changing your default.
Check before completing — Glance at the sync toggle before hitting Complete to confirm the behaviour matches your intent.
