Cookie Notice
This notice was last updated on 12 October 2026. It forms part of our privacy policy.
Sequence Training Pty Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on three sites: our website at www.sequence-app.com, the Sequence web app at dashboard.sequence-app.com, and this documentation site at docs.sequence-app.com. This notice lists what we use on each one and why. The Sequence mobile app doesn’t use cookies. It keeps your sign-in tokens on your device.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Some cookies are essential, such as the ones that keep you signed in. Others measure how a site is used. A cookie set by us is a first-party cookie. A cookie set by another company’s service running on our site, such as a payment provider, is a third-party cookie. Browser storage, sometimes called local storage, works in a similar way but is only read by the site that wrote it and is never sent to other sites.
Sequence Web App
The web app at dashboard.sequence-app.com sets these cookies.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
jwt_access | Sequence | Keeps you signed in. It can only be read by our server, not by scripts in the page. | 1 day |
jwt_refresh | Sequence | Renews your session so you don’t have to sign in again. Also server-only. | 30 days |
_sequence_session | Sequence | Holds a one-time security value while you connect your Strava account. | Until you close your browser |
ajs_anonymous_id, ajs_user_id | Segment | Product analytics: which features are used and how often, so we can improve the app. Set for all of sequence-app.com, so a visit to our website and your use of the app are linked to the same identifier. | 1 year |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud prevention on pages where you enter payment details. | 1 year and 30 minutes |
If you sign in with Google, Google’s sign-in service runs on the page and may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy.
The web app also keeps some information in browser storage rather than cookies: a security token for your session, whether you’re signed in, your user ID, email address and plan, your theme choice, a few interface preferences, and unsaved drafts such as a coaching message you’re still writing. Signing out clears the session values. Clearing site data in your browser removes the rest.
Sequence Website
The website at www.sequence-app.com sets these cookies.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Visitor measurement: pages viewed, how visitors arrive, and which pages they leave from. | 2 years |
ajs_anonymous_id, ajs_user_id | Segment | The same analytics identifier used by the web app, so we can see which website visits lead to sign-ups. | 1 year |
The website also uses Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service that counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
Documentation Site
This site at docs.sequence-app.com doesn’t set cookies. It uses Plausible and Ahrefs Analytics, both of which count page views without cookies and without identifying you. Your light or dark theme choice is kept in browser storage.
Who Else Receives Data
Analytics and payment cookies send data to the company that provides the service. Each one handles that data under its own policy:
- Segment (Twilio) — privacy policy
- Google Analytics — how Google uses data from sites that use its services
- Stripe — privacy policy
- Plausible — data policy
We don’t use cookies for advertising and don’t share cookie data with advertising networks.
How to Control Cookies
Your browser lets you view, block and delete cookies, usually under its privacy or site data settings. If you block the jwt_access and jwt_refresh cookies you won’t be able to sign in to the web app, and blocking Stripe’s cookies may stop payments from completing. Blocking the analytics cookies has no effect on how the app works.
To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Deleting the Segment cookies resets the analytics identifier, and your browser can be set to block them from being set again.
We don’t currently respond to Do Not Track signals. See the privacy policy for details.
Changes and Contact
We’ll update this notice when the cookies we use change, and show the new date at the top. Questions about cookies or this notice can go to hello@sequence-app.com.
