Guides & AdviceUsing the AssistantPrepare for a Goal or Event

Prepare for a Goal or Event

When you’re working towards something, such as a project, a trip or a competition, the assistant can check whether your plan is heading the right way and reshape it around the date. It works best when the goal or event is already in Sequence.

Add the Goal or Event First

The assistant reads your goals, including their dates and details, and your upcoming events. Before you ask, make sure the thing you’re preparing for is in your account:

  • A project or grade you’re working towards — add it as a goal with an End date
  • A climbing trip or competition — add it as an event

The assistant can add or update events for you, but it can’t create or edit goals.

Checking Your Plan Against It

Start with a review before asking for changes: “Review whether my upcoming plan supports my current goals.” For an event: “Shape my plan around my next event.” If you have goals or events, these appear as suggestions in a new conversation, and on web as the Review my goals and Plan for an event chips.

You can also be more specific:

I’m going to the Grampians on 6 December. Does my plan get me ready for long days on steep sandstone?

The assistant explains what’s planned, what’s missing and what it would change. If you agree, ask it to propose the changes.

Reshaping the Next Few Weeks

Shape the next six weeks around my most relevant in-progress goal.

Help me build more endurance over the next three weeks.

The assistant builds the proposal from workouts in your library, so it helps to have the right kind of workouts there. To see what it has to work with:

Show me endurance workouts already available in my library. Don’t change the planner.

A large proposal is harder to check. Ask for a week or two at a time if you want to review each block before applying it.

Starting a Training Plan

If you’d rather follow a structured plan, ask the assistant which ones fit:

What training plans are available to me for building endurance? Don’t change anything.

It only suggests training plans your subscription or purchases give you access to. To start one:

Put me on the Routes plan starting next Monday. Keep everything I already have planned.

The proposal shows what applying the plan does. It always keeps everything you already have planned, so ask the assistant to clear or move any clashing sessions first. It also adds the plan’s workouts to your library, and they stay there even if you undo.
